Deal...or No deal???

So, I thought I'd share an exciting moment for Ryan and I. I don't know who of you heard about the Deal or No Deal open casting call auditions that were held in Salt Lake, but me and Ryan were stoked when we heard about it because we LOVE the show! Ok, let me paint this scenario for you. So we showed up to RC Willey at 10:15am-people a been line up in th night before--the line was at least a mile long. We brought Cecily with us, and I was sick--sore throat, swollen glands, aches and weird stomach pains. And, my sister came with us with her 3-year old and 10-month old. We stood in this line for 8 hours people!!!! In the sun, we all got sunburned. I don't knwo what possessed me to stay, but I must have been inspired because me, Ryan, and my sister Amelia got through the first round. It's pretty brutal. They had ten people at a time stand around a table and the casting person said 'go'. Then each person had literally 20 seconds to "sell" his or herself. I can understand why they only allow that long since they saw 17,000 people in one day, but it's really short! You don't believe me, try to summarize yourself in in 20 seconds--it's really hard. But four of us made it through to the second round where we did the exact same thing at a new table with a new person, only this time we had 15 seconds. This time she cut six more people, and Ryan and I were still in the running. The lady loved Ryan. He shared his most embarrasing moment which really caught her attention, and made everyone laugh. Then she asked which of us we preferred to be the contestant, and we picked Ryan, and then she sent us through to the next round! We had to go to a video-taped audition on Tuesday. Ryan brought all his supporters, and after they interviewed him by himself they brought us in and we did a little mock game--really short with only about 6 cases. Super fun, but now we just have to wait for a call to tell us we'll be on the show. It could be anywhere from 2 months to 2 years from now. And we could never get a call. Even though they only picked 100 people from 17,000 for the last audition, it's still a total long shot that we will actually make it, but it was fun to say we got that close!! So there's our little bit of excitement! See, it pays off to tivo lots of TV shows, right!?!
