Christmas Funtimes

Well, now that the season of Chaos is over, I am finally back to the blogging world. It has been two months to the day since I last posted, so I have a lot to catch up on. And I must say that I am SO happy the Holidays are over. I know, I'm a scrooge. But this season was the worst. I just didn't enjoy any of it. I mean, it had it's high points, to be sure, but it was more stress for me than it was worth. Next year I'm gonna do Christmas differently. That's right, I said it. And I know most of you were thinking it too!!! Anyway, the fun part was, of course, having a little one to live vicariously through. At 21 months, she's still too young to understand Christmas, and Santa and presents and all that, but it was still fun to see her little face on Christmas morning opening up her presents (although that was a bit of a headache trying to get her to stay interested in opening them up). Anyway, here's some pictures of our Christmas time fun!

Having Christmas Eve dinner at my parents house. So not the same without them here!!!!!
Lia, Amelia, Brightyn, Mike
Denise, Isaac, Adam
The whole fam damily!
Every year since my siblings and I were young, we have acted out the Christmas story while my dad read it. Now we've passed the tradition on to the grandkids. It's so cute! and we have a lot more people to play all the parts! Brighty made such a darling Angel! (and thanks to her mom-- the 'wind beneath her wings'!!!)
Dylan and Mason playing the wise men
Here's the whole group--I had just put Cecily to bed because she hadn't had a nap yet. So she missed out!!!! Oh well, there's plenty more Christmases to come
Isn't Ella the sweetest Mary?? She seriously must have been rehearsing for the big night, cuz she sat there like this the whole time, while her roudy boy cousins and brothers caused a ruckus!
Brightyn wanted to help me play the Christmas carols as we sang along
Is the bench a little far for you?????

We were so lucky to have a special Christmas Eve visit from Santa and Mrs Claus. They came to Ryan's moms and read a story about Jesus and that we should always remember Him on Christmas. It was so neat. Then they gave everyone a candy cane.
Brighty didn't think they were very cool......I love this picture, Mason trying to comfort her!!!!
Dylan earned brownie points by giving Santa a big hug! (Ethan was not in the mood for pictures, so he took the candy cane and ran!)
Aren't they so animated!!!
Here's Ceci opening her presents! She's so excited to see her June doll!!!!

Cecily got two Little Einstein dolls, Annie and June (they sing when you squeexe their bellies, and she LOVES to sing along with them--she's right on pitch and everything!)--and she got a little Dirt devil vacuum that's her size, an aquadoodle mat, an elmo, some hair flowers and bows that her mommy made her, and a new outfit.
This was at Ethan's Preschool Christmas program a week earlier. Mason and Cecily seemed to have more fun playing on the ground than listening to the songs!
