Fourth of July

This july fourth was awesome! We went to the Stadium of Fire--it was my first time, and I've always wanted to go. It was quite the production, we had a good time. Minus the fact that I had just bought some darling, festive, red shoes that day and we had to walk so far from where we parked to the stadium that they murdered my feet!!! I had to take them off and walk barefoot the whole way. Bad idea.

But other than that, it was super fun. The Blue Man Group performed, and then of course Miley Cyrus-- my 3-year-old niece Samantha loved her. It was so cute, she was chanting her name and everything. I can't believe what huge star she is. Does anyone else think our culture is a little confused?? I don't get the total idolization of one person--I heard they paid her a million bucks to come perform for 45 minutes. That's just insane to me. Sorry, but she wasn't worth a million bucks.

My favorite part of the program was the tribute to all the soldiers. They surprised three wives that got to talk to their husbands in Iraq on web cam, and they let all the families of soldiers come sit on the grass to watch the concert. They also showed a really touching video of one battalion that came home. It was really cool.

And then, of course, the fireworks were AmAzInG!!!! SO impressive, it was so fabulous!!!! ANd Cec was great, she lasted the whole time sitting in our laps, I was shocked. I think there was enough going on that she stayed entertained. Good times!!!

sounds like a blast. I love how you did the pictures on that scrapbook page. How did you do that? I can't believe she got a million bucks. I agree how messed up that is.
