Here's some hilarious dialogue that transpired between cec and I today:
Me: Let's have some dinner
Cec: No, I want some i-cweam
(I thought it relevant to note that we have not eaten or talked about ice cream for at least a week or so--this was completely her own little idea)
Me: No, we need to have dinner first
Cec: no, I want i-cweam first
Me: Ice cream is full of sugar, you cant have ice cream before dinner
Cec: Protests again.
Me: (thinking, I'm so tired of trying to explain complex concepts to a two-year-old, so I'm just gonna say it like it is...)
Sugar makes you fat, and makes you super hyper, and rots your teeth and is just not good for you. (so take that....)
I was certainly not expecting this insightful reply....
Cec: No, it makes you so happy!!!
Ya, I can't argue with that kid.
Another funny little occurence today. First of all, quick update on our little life--we spent about 3 hours at the kids instacare last night trying to figure out why ceci had a 103.5 tempurature. The poor little thing endured a myriad of tests including a urine sample with a catheter, a blood test (ouch!) and feeling as crappy as she did, it really traumatized her. In the end, every test was negative, so still no answers, but she seemed a lot better today. No fever at least, and more energy. Anyhow, last night we just let her have her binky through it all, and it normally is a big no no ('binkies are for babies' she says), and we let her sleep in our bed with us, and just coddled her all night.
Well, as we were getting ready for bed tonight, she gets this whiny little voice "i want my binky" No, I say.... and she responds with the utmost amount of drama and pathetic-ness in her voice: "I so sick, I need it". SUCH a little actress! I start laughing so hard, and she says, "No, dont laugh, I need it. I so sick!" Aww, my little drama queen.
And in case you're wondering, she did not win the binky, because she really is not "so sick" to the point of justifying binky use.
