Fall Time Fun

Here's a quick recap of some of the fun things we've done this fall....

Ryan's Birthday
Ryan turned 33 on October 6!!! We went to dinner at Carver's and then my brother Adam and his wife Denise, and our friends Dave and Melissa met us at Boondocks for Laser tag and video games. For whatever reason, all the video games were free that night. It was hilarious to watch grown men get as excited as a 10-year-old!!!

Just for fun

Went boling just for the heck of it one afternoon with Nani and Opa and Amelia and lots of cousins!

The Witches at Gardner Village

My mom, Amelia, Denise, and I and our kids went to see the witches at Gardner Village, and found this awesome jack pot of leaves and got into a sweet leaf fight. I think my mom won!!

This is what Cecily talked about all day afterwards, though--the pony ride. She's for sure gonna ask for a pony for her birthday someday!!

By the way, yes, Cecily demanded she wear her Cinderella Halloween costume, and after a huge fight I decided this was one battle that I didn't have to win. We had had a really rough night the night before, Ceci threw up all night and I didn't get an ounce of sleep so it just wasn't worth it. Which leads me to the next bit of fall fun.....

Getting sick!!!
She got a really bad cold one day, and was really wheezy--of course it was on a Sunday, so the on-call Dr recommended we take her to Primary Children's. After waiting for 3 hours, and still not getting in, I decided to leave--I had had it with all the sick kids around her. I took her to her Dr first thing the next morning and they gave her a breathing treatment and prescribed a steroid and this little inhaler!!! Her symptoms were asthmatic, but the Dr won't diagnose her as an asthmatic until she's four because chances are she'll grow out of it. I SO hope that's the case. I thought it was funny that she was a just like her daddy with the inhaler!! Since then, she hasn't needed it, though. So far so good...

Went golfing one night for family home eveing.

Ryan got his new company car, a Toyota Camry. We love it!

This silly little maze was cec's favorite thing! She ran through it probably ten times! Good thing kids are so easily entertained. This alone got us our money's worth!

Hee Haws
For any of you who haven't heard of Hee Haws Farm in Lindon, you've got to go next fall. It is the best place for fall time fun!! They've got a real hay ride pulled by a tractor that we thought was gonna die on us--it kept sputtering and made us all laugh--they've got a huge slide of plastic on a huge hill of hay that you slide down on a potato sack; animals the kids get to chase around, a pony ride (Ceci's Favorite!), a corn pile the kids buried themselves in, and tons more fun stuff. I was so sad we didn't get to spend much time there, it got dark soon after we got there. But really, my favorite thing we did the whole season!!!

Ceci Says.....

Our little Cecily has got the funniest personality and surprises us everyday by the things she says. I think that's one of the best and funniest things to look back on when you're older. So here are some of the cute things she says every day.

10/20/10
We were making pumpkin cookies, and when cecily tasted the batter she says " Mmm! Impwessive!"

2/21/10

As I was putting Ceci to bed, she kept being a little bugger and asking for drinks, and doing all kinds of things to stall going to sleep. So after I had gone in and sang her yet another song and was about to leave for the hundredth time, she reached out her hands and said, "I can't bear to lose you!" She knows how to work me, cuz I totally stayed longer!!!

2/18/10

Tonight has been a rough night--Max is so sick with the worst cough, and Cecily is also sick and has an ear infection. I've been up a lot of the night with Max, and Ryan has had to get up with Cecily. He was lying with her to help her fall back asleep, and then came in to switch me because she asked to see Mommy. So I go in and lay with her. I'd been in there for 5-10 minutes, and I almost thought she was asleep, but then I feel this sweet little hand softly brush my cheek and her tiny voice whispers, "I love you very much" and she has the sweetest little smile on her face. If that doesn't make it all worth it, I don't know what does!!!

A few weeks after Max was born, he was laying in his swing and, out of the blue, she came up to him and said, "Heavenly Father loves me and you!" What a good big sister!!!

My absolute favorite little thing she does right now is how she mixes up her pronouns. She hasn't quite settled on using 'his' and 'her'. Especially when referring to Max, she'll say, "Here's he binky," or "is this he seat? (she was asking about his little tub)" Or talking about her princess dolls, "this is she dress," etc. It is so funny, I love it. I'll be so sad when she grows out of this one.

2-4-10

While Cecily was at her grandma's house, Ryan's sister, Amberlee called their mom. She heard Cecily in the background and asked to talk to her, so Grandma asked her " do you want to talk to Amberlee?" Usually she loves to talk to anyone and everyone on the phone, and, quite often, holds extensive conversations, but this time, she thought for a minute and said, "No, we have a phone at home." No offense, Amberlee, I guess she jsut wasn't in a chatty mood, and that was the most gentle way she could think of to decline the offer.

Back in June, we were doing lots of yard work, and Ceci was playing with some water balloons. One dropped and popped, and completely to herself, she muttered "oh cwap (crap)!!" I've never heard her say it since, and it cracked us up to hear her sweet little girl voice say a vile little word. We need to watch what we say around her!!

8/02/09

Her favorite thing to do when we're driving is to point out all the cars that are the same as our family's. It started out with mini-vans. Every time she saw a mini-van, she said "look Denise!!" (my sister-in-law). She went on to point out every Corolla as mommy's car, every big black truck as Adam or Mike's (my brother and bro-in-law have the same truck). She finds Daddy's car with any ford fusions, and Nani/Opa's car is hit or miss. She calls all Mazdas "ovals" but as of today, it is now Steph's car becasue she just bought a Mazda 3. The most amazing on to me is she pointed to an intrepid yesterday and said "Bishop. " Which is correct, but I disn't know how she would have known that, I've never pointed it out, and we rarely see them driving or go to their house. Today she did it again to two other intrepids, so I know she didn't make a mistake. I think I have a very observant daughter!

My favorite part of this little obsession right now is one day, after pointing out "Denises" several times, she started to chant, "De-nise, de-nise". It was hilarious. Another time, we were driving her home and she hadn't wanted to get in her car seat and was throwing the tantrum of the century--absolutely hysterical, and I'm not exaggerating, she was literally mid-scream and went straight into her high-pitched, excited little voice: "Denise car!" Then went right back into screaming. Ryan and I about died laughing. What a character! She couldn't miss an opportunity to point out something she recognized!

Cecily is starting to prounounce things correctly, which is great, but a little sad. "mee-mee-mee-la" is now a perfect "ciderella", and "lellaly" is a very articulated "cecily". Most of her words are quite perfect now, so I thought I should write down some of my favorites of the very few things she still says in a little girl way:

Snake: "slink"

Flip Flips: "sthlip sthops"

Broke, brake, bread: "bloke, blake, blead"

Open it: "Opendint"

7/15/09

Yesterday we got to go to the Oquirhh mountain temple open house, and I told her about it a couple hours before we went so she would know she was going to the temple. As we were driving there, in her sweet little voice, and scrunching up her shoulders, she says "I so happy to go to the temple, I so escited!!!" For sure melted her mommy's heart!!

6/28/09

In sacrament meeting yesterday, I accompanied the youth as they sang a musical number. The second it was finished, and it was completely silent, Cecily literally yells, "Yay Mommy!!!" and starts clapping. The whole congregation chuckles, and afterwards a woman sitting at the opposite corner of the room said how funny it was!

6/27/09

We saw the fireworks show at taylorsville dayzz Saturday night. We seriously considered leaving before they started because it was gonna make for such a late night, but decided to wait it out, hoping Cec would enjoy them. Well, enjoy them she did! After seriously every single firework she would yell something, "Oh Sparkles!!" " Oh purple purple!!" Oh Big one"!!! And on and on. Then she'd go up to Ryan, or my brother or sis-in-law, "Did you hear dat?" Yep, we heard it!!!

Whenever her shoe falls off she says "Oh no, I locka shoe!" (I lost a shoe)

Blog Address Explanation

Ok, for all of you that think I'm an abusive wife, I want to explain the address of our blog. First of all, it was Ryan's idea. Second of all, he and his friends have been calling each other "fat" and "fatso" for who knows how long. It is really a term of endearment for them. Ya, I don't get it either. But if you knew half the inside jokes they have it would kind of explain a little more. Anyway, we have a few friends that call us fat and kat, for obvious reasons (....it rhymes....). Either way, I've become numb to it, but to every woman in the universe, they hear the word fat and immediately feel offended and think that I am calling my husband mean names. Just to set the record straight: I think he is a hotty!!!
