East London Zoo (Day 4)

On wednesday, after seeing the monkeys at the petting zoo, we went to the East London Zoo. They have some baby lion cubs here that we got to go play with and it was amazing. The pictures and video clips are some of my favorite of the trip, but we had run out of memory in our camera (and yes, forgot to bring our extra SIM cards!!!), so all the great pictures were on my parents camera. There's just one video clip I don't have yet, and it's my favorite. My dad was holding a cub and another came up behind him and we heard my dad yell "he's biting my butt"!!!! For some reason we thought it was so funny and laughed so hard--at my poor dad's expense! It was amazing though, we watched them feed the cubs--there were three of them and they had a raw meat-and-milk lunch. They kept trying to steal each other's lunch and got really feisty. So once they had full tummies, we went in and played with them and held them. They would suck on our fingers like a binky, it was the funniest thing. THe one RYan held loved him, He laid on his back and sucked his finger like a little baby. I couldn't get mine to hold still or stop trying to bite me. We just got as many pictures as we could and I got out of there. Anyway, of course, it was a fun experience. There was also a giraffe that was so interested in us and let us pet it's neck and feed it leaves. It felt more like we were in a petting zoo! Poor Cecily was so tired and grumpy and it was wearing us all down. You can see on the video clips she was whining the entire time. We left and had dinner at a mall and headed home!!!!

Yay!!! We found the "he bit my butt" video!! You'll see Ryan and I laughing our heads off. And it's so funny to see Ryan's cub lying on his back like a baby and mine trying to bite me and won't hold still for a second. Is that the effect we have over babies?? Maybe that's why ceci's so feisty--she needs to be around Ryan more than me!!!
